You will learn how repetitive pain affects the nervous system and brain and explore the use of gentle Yoga, mindful meditation, guided visualization and breath work to lessen your pain. The goal of this class is to assist you in reducing your long term pain. Previous experience with yoga is not necessary.
If you suffer from chronic back pain, fibromyalgia, arthritis, or various other conditions which have led you to experience pain for 6 months or more this class may be for you.
Prerequisite for Yoga for Chronic Pain:
Although this course has been designed for individuals living with chronic pain, we recognize that that pain will be different for everyone and that everyone will have a different level of ability and comfort when it comes to the various yoga poses. It is for this reason that we have established a prerequisite one-on-one consultation with Marina for individuals interested in signing up for this course. This consultation will allow Marina to assess and address the specific needs of an individual in a private setting and allow her to determine if an individual would be best served by taking Yoga for Chronic Pain or if an alternate course of action would be more appropriate.
