Courses Taught:

Sarah Black, MFA, CYI, RN, is a multi-passionate individual who believes in the power of writing and yoga to challenge, explore, grow, strengthen, and heal. Sarah completed her MFA in Creative Writing in 2006 at Sarah Lawrence College. She later completed a 200-hour teacher training at Inspire Yoga in Rochester, NY under the guidance of Aimee Senise Bohn and Joan Nichols in 2015. Sarah currently teaches vinyasa flow at the Peak in Missoula and has a particular interest in the therapeutic effects of both yoga and writing. Both practices have grown to become not only physically and mentally beneficial but have also helped her move through challenges in life and within herself. She teaches with the core value that yoga is more than a series of poses and writing is more than stringing words together. Her mission is to assist students in finding their own way, on and off the mat and the page, and to observe and honor whatever may arise. Sarah believes that yoga and writing are exercises in self-exploration, inner disarmament, radical acceptance, and, ultimately, evolution.
